Moustafa Albassyiouni, PhD
Founder & Chief Technology Officer
Moustafa Albassyiouni is a multidisciplinary reliability and forensics expert with over two decades of experience spanning advanced electronics, robotics, datacenters, and automation systems. His career includes leadership roles at Microsoft, where he led datacenter reliability and forensics for global cloud operations, and at Amazon, where he advanced reliability and prognostics for autonomous and robotic systems.
Earlier in his career, Albassyiouni served as Deputy Director at CALCE, University of Maryland, and later contributed to reliability and design leadership at King Abdulaziz University and multiple international industrial initiatives. His expertise spans Design for Reliability (DfR), Failure Mode, Mechanism and Effects Analysis (FMMEA), Physics-of-Failure (PoF) modeling, predictive maintenance, and reliability analytics for complex systems.
At ReliaNova, Albassyiouni leads the company’s strategy, technical programs, and vision for end-to-end reliability — from design to field performance — ensuring every engagement delivers measurable, lasting impact.
Michael Pecht, PhD, PE
Technical Fellow
Michael (Mike) Pecht is a globally recognized authority in reliability engineering, prognostics, and electronics systems. He has authored over 900+ technical publications, 40+ books, and holds multiple patents in reliability, prognostics, and system health management. He served on three U.S. National Academy of Science studies, two US Congressional investigations in automotive safety, and as an expert to the U.S. FDA. He is the Director of CALCE (Center for Advanced Life Cycle Engineering) at the University of Maryland (UMd). Additionally, Pecht has served as editor-in-chief for numerous journals, including the journal Microelectronics Reliability, and as a consultant to over 200 major organizations worldwide.
At ReliaNova, Pecht serves as the Chief Scientific Advisor, guiding strategy in predictive maintenance, failure analysis, and the integration of physics-of-failure and data-driven approaches. His leadership continues to shape industry best practices globally.
Sami Ainane, PhD, CSSBB
Program Architect, ReliaNova Academy
Sami Ainane is a globally engaged academic leader and mechanical engineering scholar recognized for building high-impact engineering programs across North America and the Middle East. With senior leadership roles spanning curriculum governance, departmental strategy, and cross-border institutional initiatives, he bridges academic rigor with real-world industry relevance.
He previously served as Lead for Engineering for Social Change and Director of Undergraduate Studies at the University of Maryland’s A. James Clark School of Engineering, and as Associate Professor, Department Chair, and Dean of Student Affairs at the Petroleum Institute, later Khalifa University, UAE. His work has shaped engineering curricula, strengthened institutional partnerships, and aligned education with applied industrial practice.
At ReliaNova, Ainane architects and scales industry-focused reliability certification programs, executive trainings, and university partnerships that translate reliability strategy into globally credible, accreditation-ready education. His leadership positions ReliaNova Academy as a forward-looking platform that equips organizations with sustainable, world-class reliability capability.
